Buying a security camera is like buying a new car. You want something that will suit your needs in terms of appearance, capabilities, reliability and something you know will keep your family safe. One of the most important factors for making a purchase is having the latest technology. When it comes to home security, smart home integration is taking over the industry by storm.
“We believe Nexia’s new HD Wi-Fi Outdoor Security Camera, a Z-wave compatible high quality security camera, is seriously worth considering.” – GearBrain
Nexia has redesigned their HD Wi-Fi Outdoor Security Camera to fit that smart home integration market. With Z-wave compatibility, the camera connects users to the Nexia smart home system. Through the Nexia smart home system, the camera supports live viewing, recording and storage up to 16GB of video. To access the stored video footage, users will need a Nexia subscription. For the standard subscription of $9.99 a month, users will receive 4GB of cloud storage and integration with any other Z-Wave or Wi-Fi controlled devices such as garage door openers, lights, smart locks and other cameras connected to a Nexia hub. If the standard subscription doesn’t sound like it’s for you, Nexia also offers the HVAC plan which includes four thermostats, a lighting control and unlimited cameras. Although you won’t be able to store any video recordings in the cloud, users can add 12GB of storage for only $1.99 a month.
This camera is packed with a high definition 1080p resolution and a wide-angle lens that has a 110-degree field of view. It is also offers motion detection and night vision with built-in infrared illumination for 0 Lux imaging. Using the app, users have the capability to get a closer look at their video with the pinch-and-zoom functionality. Even when zooming in to get a close-up, the quality of the image remains surprisingly clear. Unlike many other security cameras with this functionality, Nexia prevents the picture from getting distorted or blurry, which could come in handy when trying to identify an individual or license plate in a crime. The camera can operate in temperatures as low as -4 degrees Fahrenheit with 300% more pixels and a 60% wider field of view than the previous Nexia outdoor security camera.
If you already own a Nexia smart home system then the choice is obvious, buy the Nexia Outdoor Security Camera and you will not be disappointed. If you do not already own Nexia smart home products, then maybe it is time to consider doing so. This camera is absolutely keeping up with its competitors in terms of capabilities, reliability and safety and for $189 on Amazon, customers will definitely get their money’s worth.
